Abdullah Mohamed Al johar as known as Abade Al johar is an Arab artist born in the city of Jeddah, in 1953.

He was nicknamed by the great artist Talal Maddah as ‘The Octopus of Oud’, and labeled by the great composer Baligh Hamdi as one of the best composers in the Middle East. At the age of 12, he started learning the instrument of ‘Oud’ on his own. He was very influenced by the style of the Icon Farid El Atrache, and dreamt to reach his level.

In 1968, he collaborated with the artists Lotfi Zini and Talal Madadh on a first single ‘Ya Ghazal’. For a long period, he had to accompany his mother to Egypt in her trips to hospitals and had to work as an instrumentalist in the casinos to secure the expenses of rent and hospitals for his mother. He got depressed after the death of his mother and quit music for almost 2 years. He came-back with an album entitled ‘Al Jarh Arham’.

Abade is considered as an innovating artist who tried to fuse the oriental music with the western beats. His first and successful attempt was in a ceremony of the Saudi Embassy in the USA, in 1985. He mixed the famous Despeardo piece with oriental feeling. He dealt with famous lyricists such as Princes Badr Ben Mohsen,Khaled Alfaycal and Abdullah Alfaycal.
