Fella - the fusion of folklore and Algerian Arabic varieties

Fella Ababsa is an artist with the gravelly and melodious voice, daughter of the great poet and musician and Algerian singer Abdelhamid Ababsa. From her earliest childhood, she was cradled in the art and music, particularly Andalusian music that her father loved. Her brother and sister, Najeeb and Naima are also singers, and well known in Algeria. This family is in the heart of Fella’s life and would be her main source of inspiration throughout her career.

The Algerian and Andalusian folk music has allowed her to enter the world of Arabic music. Inspired by the melodious notes of the Andalusian oud,she begins very quickly in taking courses of oud and piano, then at the age of 15 she made her debut as a singer in Algiers. At 20, she went to London to study music in a broader sense. She then heads to Cairo and then Paris, where her career is reinforced. Over tour and contacts with musicians from the Middle East, this beautiful singer with vocalizations consolidates her repertoire.

Sidi Khaled "is her fifth album. We find this enthusiasm and this music mixed, ranging from Algerian traditional folklore and Arabic variety. Fella likes to dabble in all styles of Arabic music during her concerts, and playing with varieties existing in each style. In some cases, only the language and the Algerian popular music can express what she wants to convey to her audience, especially when she sang for an Algerian audience. Inspired by Oum Kalthoum, fella likes to sing around a theme redundant, love.
